Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Professional Dog Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dog grooming, a deep understanding of various breeds and coat types, and a passion for working with animals. You will be responsible for grooming dogs to the highest standards of cleanliness, health, and appearance. This role requires a love for dogs, patience, and the ability to handle various breeds and temperaments.
Responsibilities:
- Grooming Services: Perform grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling dogs’ coats, nails, and ears based on breed standards and client preferences.
- Health and Safety: Monitor and maintain the health and safety of each dog during grooming, recognizing any signs of health issues or injuries and reporting them to the owner or leadership staff as needed.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with dog owners to understand grooming preferences, provide recommendations, and address any concerns or special requests.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure grooming tools and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and well-maintained to ensure safe and effective use.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of services provided, including any health or behavior notes, and manage appointment schedules.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other grooming and bathing staff and support team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Continual Learning: Stay updated on grooming and pet safety techniques, industry trends, and breed-specific grooming needs through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer; portfolio of previous work preferred.
- Knowledge of grooming tools and equipment, as well as safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine love for working with animals.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to handle and groom dogs of all sizes and temperaments with patience and care. Capability to stand, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time.
- Certification in pet grooming preferred.
