The Comfort Care Program is for families with children receiving long-term care or with children staying overnight at CHOP for specialized care, resulting in overnight care needed for their family dog. This program is ideal for families navigating extended treatment, recovery, or frequent back-to-back appointments.
GETTING STARTED
- Subject line: CHOP Comfort Care Request
- Your child’s expected length of stay/timeframe you’ll need dog lodging
- Your dog’s name, age, and any specific needs we should be aware of (food allergies, medications, anxiety, mobility needs).
- Anything else that would help us care for your dog more thoughtfully
BARK U is unable to accept dogs that are diabetic or have a history of human aggression.
What the Comfort Care Program Includes
By offering discounts and comfort-minded support, BARK U aims to provide stability and peace of mind during a difficult time—ensuring that your dog is safe, cared for, and spoiled with a little extra love.
Comfort Care Program Details:
- 10% off dog lodging stays
- Free temperament assessment, required for all new pups at BARK U
- Complimentary Daily Photo updates of your pup
- Lodging discounts for multi-dog households may be applied
- No minimum night stay
- Complimentary facility tour for pet parents
- 24/7 care from a trained, experienced team
- All lodging includes safe, supervised daycare services
Additional Comfort Care Amenities:
Procedures and hospital stays may be impacted by last minute health changes with your child, scheduling updates, or other changes of plan to care.
To support families navigating unexpected changes, BARK U provides the ability to extend a dog’s stay without penalty if a hospital stay is prolonged.
- Waived fees for early check-in/late check-out
- Waived fees for motivational meal incentives and medication administration
- Waived fees for reservation changes or cancelations (with provided notice)
Additional Details & Policies:
- Retroactive discounts do not apply.
- Comfort Care program only applies to families that have dogs actively living with child receiving care at CHOP.
- Optional add-ons such as bathing services, enrichment activities, and desserts available for additional cost.
- By receiving the discount, recipients confirm that their family currently meets the eligibility requirements for BARK U’s Comfort Care Program.
