Job Description
As a Dog Bather, you play a crucial role in the pet grooming process by providing essential bathing and preparatory services for dogs. You will work closely with groomers to ensure that pets receive proper hygiene and care according to the grooming standards and client expectations. This role requires a love for dogs, patience, and the ability to handle various breeds and temperaments.
Responsibilities
- Safely bathe dogs of various sizes and breeds using appropriate shampoos and conditioners.
- Ensure thorough rinsing to remove all traces of shampoo and conditioner; Brush out fur to remove loose hair and prevent matting. Dremel nails, apply facial scrub and clean ears as needed.
- Use techniques that minimize stress and discomfort of the dogs.
- Inspect for any skin issues or abnormalities while grooming.
- Follow proper sanitization procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment for pets; Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of bathing area.
- Support grooming team as needed in ensuring timely completion of appointments and maintaining workflow.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with dogs a must; one year of dog bathing experience preferred.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently and safely.
- Team player with strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform cleaning tasks.
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in stressful situations.
