BARK U Adoptables Program

Adoptions Done Right

Welcome to BARK U's Adoptables Program

At BARK U, we’re passionate about giving dogs the opportunity to thrive and find loving homes.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Scout’s Street Smart Rescue to foster incredible dogs and prepare them for their forever families.

We carefully select dogs for fostering based on their sociability, compatibility with kids, and overall family-friendly nature. This ensures that every dog we foster has the best chance of becoming a wonderful companion for their future family.

While in our care, these amazing dogs experience the best of BARK U—daily playtime and socialization, in a safe, enriching environment. We’re dedicated to helping them build confidence, learn new skills, and simply enjoy being dogs while they wait for their perfect match.

Whether you’re looking for a playful companion, a snuggle buddy, or a loyal walking partner, our foster dogs are ready to bring joy, laughter, and unconditional love into your life.

Ready to Adopt

We work with interested families to help match them with their perfect BARK U Adoptable. Here’s how it works.

Building Confidence, One Foster at a Time

At BARK U, we provide a safe and enriching environment for our foster puppies and dogs. During their stay, they enjoy playtime with other dogs and staff, monitored socialization, and oversight from our trained professional team—all designed to prepare them for a fulfilling, well-adjusted life with their forever families.

While the dogs are in our care, their temperaments are carefully assessed by our trainers. This allows us to provide valuable insights to Scout’s Street Smart Rescue, helping match each dog with the perfect family based on their unique personality, needs, and compatibility.

Apply Through Scouts Street Smart Rescue

Once you’ve found your adoptable match, submit an adoption application through Scout’s Street Smart Rescue. After receiving your application, we work closely with Scout’s to review it, ensuring it’s a great match for both you and the dog. Since the dogs spend time in our care at BARK U, we have valuable insight into their personalities, needs, and behavior. This allows us to assist Scout’s in vetting applicants and making recommendations to help find the perfect fit.

Scout’s will guide you through the rest of the application process after you complete an online questionnaire, ensuring a smooth and thorough adoption experience.

Come Say Hello

Once your application is approved, you’ll have the opportunity to meet your potential Adoptable pup at BARK U! A meet-and-greet is a great way to ensure that the pup’s personality, energy level, and demeanor align with your lifestyle and expectations. It also allows the dog to interact with you in a safe, familiar environment, helping everyone feel confident about the match.

Please note that at this time, we only allow meet-and-greets for applicants who have already been approved. This ensures that each pup’s time is focused on serious adopters who are ready to take the next step toward giving them a loving forever home.

You've Found Your Fur-ever Match!

If you and your potential Adoptable turn out to be a great match, Scout’s Street Smart Rescue will guide you through every step of the adoption process. A Loving Brindle/Black Boxer Looking for Her Forever Home

Introducing Wednesday, a stunning 1.5–2-year-old black brindle and white Boxer named after the iconic Wednesday Addams. Despite her spooky namesake, Wednesday is all love, energy, and charm.

About Wednesday:
• Loving and Affectionate: Wednesday adores people and children. However, due to her enthusiastic Boxer wiggles and her 45–50 lbs of playful energy, she would do best in a home with kids aged 5 and older.
• Dog-Friendly: She loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine companion.
• Not Cat-Friendly: Wednesday finds cats far too fun to chase, so a cat-free home is recommended.
• Well-Trained: She is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, making her a well-mannered addition to any family.
• Moderate Energy Level: Wednesday enjoys playtime, regular exercise, and a good chew toy.

Her Story:
Wednesday was discovered dumpster diving in a commercial area in Northwest Amarillo, spending her days around a gas station. The workers shared that she had been dumped there over a month earlier and had been surviving on her own. After being safely trapped, it was found that she had no microchip, and no one came forward to claim her.

Now fully vetted, healthy, and ready for her next chapter, Wednesday is looking for a family who will love and care for her the way she deserves.

The Sweetest Spotty Boy!

James is a 9–10 month-old Cattle Dog/Pitty/Staffy-type mix, and he’s a true heart-stealer! This medium-sized pup weighs about 40-45 lbs and has the softest white, spotty coat.

James is the ultimate lover boy. His favorite place in the world? Right in your lap, soaking up all the attention and belly rubs you can give! He adores people of all ages but, being a young pup who doesn’t always realize his size.

What James Loves:
• Running around and playing with dogs his size or larger. Especially in the summer with puppy pools!
• Games of tug, zoomies, and chewing on toys.
• Snuggling up on the couch and being your loyal cuddle buddy.

His Social Side:
James is great with other dogs, though tiny ones under 10-15lbs might find his enthusiasm a little much. He’s also a bit too curious and playful for most cats.

Why James is a Dream:
• House-trained, crate-trained, and good on a leash and harness.
• Moderate energy—he loves exercise and outings but also knows how to chill.
• Quiet and apartment/condo friendly (a yard is a bonus, but not required).

Like any young pup, James is still working on perfecting his manners (he gets excited when he sees other dogs), but with consistent training, he’ll be a superstar.

James has been waiting for months without a single application, and we can’t understand why! He’s got the personality of a mushy, loving companion and is ready to bring so much joy to his forever family.
