Job Description
As a Bus Driver at BARK U, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting dogs to their designated locations. This role involves interacting with both pets and their owners, ensuring a positive experience for both. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong driving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care during transport.
Responsibilities:
- Safe Transport: Operate company vehicle to transport dogs to and from their homes, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Animal Handling: Handle and manage dogs in a compassionate manner, ensuring their well-being and reducing stress during transport. Assist in feeding, watering, and other dog support needs as requested.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary supplies for safe pet transport, including harnesses, crates, and first aid kits.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service by communicating clearly with pet owners regarding pickup and drop-off times, addressing any concerns, and updating them on their pet’s status as needed.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes to minimize travel time and avoid unnecessary delays.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws and company safety protocols to ensure a secure and compliant transportation service.
- Emergency Response: Prepared to handle any emergencies or unexpected issues that may arise during transport, including health concerns or vehicle problems.
- Team Player: Support Lodging and Training teams as needed with cleaning tasks; support in other tasks throughout facility as assigned.
Requirements:
- Comfortable handling, managing and lifting dogs on and off the bus.
- General knowledge of Canine Behavior & Dog to Dog Interactions.
- Professionalism, dedication to work, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be on feet for long periods and a natural comfort level around all breeds of dogs.
- Ability to maintain safe and efficient driving practices during heavy traffic.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Resume Required
- Strong verbal communications skills are a plus.
